

The book itself is full of wonderful information about traditions and how they are formed, about belief, about winter myths and how people everywhere create joy in the darkest months of the year. In place of Father Christmas, on the Disc we have the Hogfather. Hogswatch, for the uninitiated, is the pastiche of Christmas offered to us in the Discworld novels.

I love watching what can happen when you put a lot of Discworld fans in a room together, and Hogswatch is one of the many events where this phenomenon can be observed. Terry Pratchett’s Discworld* has its own fan traditions.
